Everything in our world is changing, and it seems like the changes are coming faster and faster. It’s so comforting to know that in the midst of a world full of constant change, God’s nature remains steadfast and unshakable. His consistency is such a solid foundation, especially when everything around us can feel uncertain and unpredictable. God declares when speaking to the prophet Malachi in Malachi 3:6 For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. Again, in Hebrews 13:8 we find the writer saying the same thing “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
Praise the Lord God never changes in the sense that He is invariable in His nature, character and integrity. His acts may change, but His essence always remains the same. Knowing this gives me confidence in the midst of these unsettling times.
We can count on God no matter what changes, no matter how big the challenges we face are. God's promises and His presence are reliable.
