Look Out Changes Ahead

Everything in our world is changing, and it seems like the changes are coming faster and faster. It’s so comforting to know that in the midst of a world full of constant change, God’s nature remains steadfast and unshakable. His consistency is such a solid foundation, especially when everything around us can feel uncertain and unpredictable. God declares when speaking to the prophet Malachi in Malachi 3:6  For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. Again, in Hebrews 13:8 we find the writer saying the same thing “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”

Blessing In Disguise

Have there been times in your life when you feel like God is not there with you? Times when you felt so desperate and said, Why God? Why is this happening? Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do disasters happen on this earth?

Let Your Light Shine

Sunday after church we went and picked up our daughter and went to Firehouse subs. While we were eating in walked a young couple (in the 30s to 40s) and they asked us if they could set down across the isle from us at their own table. We said yes and we began talking (mostly about raising chickens) but the subject of church did come up. Not surprisingly, this couple were Christians. They started the conversation so that they could share Christ with us. No knowing that we were already Christians. I think this is such an amazing way to carry out the Great Commission that Christ called us to.

The Only Thing That Jesu Bought

Have you every though about what Jesus bought when He was on the earth? This past week I listened to a song sung by the Morrison Sisters entitled "The Only Thing That Jesus Bought". The words of this song hit me like a hammer because it reminded me that the only reason Jesus came to earth was to purchase my salvation.

Things I Love About The Why Church

I love that all of the preaching and teaching at the Why Church is Biblically based. Sermons are a mixture of expository preaching and topical preaching. This mixture makes the sermons engaging and impactful since it is not the same old preaching method every week. Expository preaching, with its focus on Scripture, can really ground you in the Bible, while topical preaching allows for addressing relevant issues in a way that feels timely and practical.

You are NOT Alone

This weeks sermon 1/19/2025 was based on Mark 6:35-50.  This is the direct account of Jesus feeding of the 5000. In this scripture there are 4 little words that are easily overlooked "He (Jesus) saw the disciples". Jesus saw the disciples and their struggles while they were in the middle of the Sea of Galilee and He was standing on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. This means that Jesus does not need to be where you are to see your struggles. Jesus knows EVERYTHING about you and He knows your struggles, and according to God's word in Romans 8:34 " Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. " It is amazing that God would love ME so much that He would send His one and only Son and that SON knows my daily struggles and in PRAYING for me...
